Wait, that's not a bed! No, this is me making sure all my stuff will fit in the storage area under my bed (aka the 'garage'). Teaching supplies, office supplies, sewing supplies, arts & crafts...
Here's the bed frame. Notice the hinged tops for the storage boxes, which create ledges for more storage!
And the platform for the mattress... it's taking shape!
And finally, the mattress (an Ikea double foam mattress - fits perfect and super comfy!).
The next project is the kitchen. I bought kitchen cabinets from Ikea and then worried they wouldn't be able to stand up to the vibration of the van, so I returned them. I decided to put in a temporary kitchen - countertop, fridge and drawers - and see if the design I had in mind would work. And I had two days to do it. Time was running out! I had to be in Kansas City in less than a week.
